The timing belt on my 2014 Volkswagen Polo was replaced in August 2025 at 93,000 km at the authorized Volkswagen Elazığ Polatlar Service Center for $1,333. Shortly after this repair, the vehicle experienced a significant loss of power, struggled to climb hills, and began making a screw-like rattling noise from the timing belt area.
When I took the car back to the same service center, I was informed that the bearings had not been properly seated. The vehicle was hastily reassembled and essentially handed back to me without proper care or attention. Now, after only a few months, a loud and alarming bearing rattling noise—clearly audible from outside the vehicle—has started coming from the same area again.
My car, which had never previously been serviced outside authorized facilities and which I have maintained with great care, has now become a vehicle that cannot seem to leave the service center due to this careless and faulty repair. Although the service center partially acknowledged their mistake, I strongly anticipate that they will attempt to offer new excuses regarding this latest issue. Their dismissive “bring it in and we’ll take a look” attitude does not come close to addressing the seriousness of the hardship I have experienced.
I request that Volkswagen Headquarters urgently intervene in this matter, ensure that my vehicle is repaired properly and permanently at no cost by Volkswagen Elazığ Polatlar Authorized Service, and fully remedy the hardship I have suffered.
