Volkswagen Faces Months-Long Delay in Golf 8 Windshield Replacement
On October 20, 2025, I applied to the Ankara Arca authorized service for a windshield replacement for my Golf 8 vehicle. I was informed that they did not have the windshield in stock, that there was a nationwide shortage in Turkey, and that the windshield had been ordered from Germany and would be replaced once it arrived. Through my own research, I also confirmed that there was a general supply issue; however, the fact that this problem has still not been resolved after such a long time is unacceptable.
Overall, I am satisfied with the Ankara Arca service, and I have no complaints about the attitude or professionalism of the staff. I believe the real source of the problem and the inconvenience I have experienced is due to Volkswagen’s supply chain and process management. It is extremely disappointing that a major global brand like Volkswagen, especially for one of its most popular models such as the Golf, has been unable to supply a windshield for months and does not seem to be taking this situation seriously enough.
I believe Volkswagen should no longer ignore this issue, especially to prevent other customers from experiencing similar problems. During this period, there was always a risk that the windshield could have shattered completely. In such a case, it remains unclear whether the vehicle could be used at all and who would be responsible for the resulting situation.
When I last contacted the Arca service on Thursday, I was told that the windshield had cleared customs and would be available in their stock within the next few days. I request that the windshield be supplied and replaced as soon as possible, and that the necessary measures be taken to ensure other customers do not experience similar inconveniences.
