Denmark Visa Application Delayed for 60 Days Through VFS Global

On April 13, my wife, daughter, and I submitted applications for Danish tourist visas through the VFS Global Istanbul Beyoğlu application center. Our planned travel date was May 10. However, as of June 13, we still have not received any decision regarding our applications, and our passports continue to be held by the Danish Consulate. As a business owner who frequently travels abroad, I have been forced to cancel multiple international trips and business commitments due to this prolonged delay, resulting in significant inconvenience and financial loss.

All three applications were submitted together during the same appointment. Our passports have now been retained for approximately 60 days, including the period covering public holidays in May. Meanwhile, we have seen numerous reports on social media from applicants who submitted their visa applications after ours and have already received decisions and had their passports returned. This raises serious concerns about why our applications have experienced such an unusual delay.

Throughout this process, we have contacted VFS Global by phone and sent emails to the Danish Consulate. VFS Global has repeatedly stated that it cannot provide any information and that the entire process is under the authority of the Consulate. The only response we received from the Consulate was an automated message stating that our email would not receive a reply. We have not been asked to provide any additional documents or information, nor have we received any explanation regarding the reason for the delay.

Holding our passports for nearly 60 days without any justification, update, or communication has caused the cancellation of our planned trip and disrupted my professional schedule. The lack of transparency surrounding our applications has only added to our frustration and uncertainty.

I respectfully request that our visa applications be reviewed and finalized as a matter of urgency and that our passports be returned without further delay. In addition, I request a clear and detailed explanation regarding the reason for this extraordinary processing delay and why our applications have remained pending for such an extended period without any communication.
