During my Turkish Airlines flight from Düsseldorf to İzmir, my brand-new bicycle, which I checked in after paying an €80 bicycle transportation fee, was delivered to me in damaged condition.

When I arrived home and opened the box, I discovered damage to the paint on both the bicycle’s fork and frame. After noticing the damage, I contacted Turkish Airlines regarding the issue.

I was instructed to have the bicycle repaired, so I arranged for the repair work and uploaded the repair invoice totaling approximately $180 to the system.

My request was for the full reimbursement of the repair cost and the refund of the €80 bicycle transportation fee that I had paid. However, without providing any explanation or justification, Turkish Airlines offered me only approximately $155 in compensation.

When I asked what criteria were used to determine this reduced amount, I was not given any clear answer or written explanation.

I request that Turkish Airlines fully reimburse the entire repair cost of approximately $180 for the damage caused to my bicycle while it was under the airline’s responsibility, refund the €80 bicycle transportation fee I paid, and provide a transparent written explanation regarding how the compensation amount was calculated and why my full claim was not accepted.
