Agoda Charged Me for a Fake Hotel Booking That Doesn’t Even Exist
I booked a hotel for my vacation through agoda.com and was charged on my credit card. The reservation appeared confirmed, and the hotel seemed legit—until I called the property the next day. That’s when I learned the shocking truth: the hotel clearly told me they do not work with Agoda, and they never authorized any listings through them. They said the listing was fake, others had been tricked the same way, and no room was actually booked. They even explained that Agoda used a random phone number and created a completely unauthorized listing to lure customers with attractive prices.
Thankfully, the hotel sent me an official email confirming I never received any service. I’ve already filed a dispute with my bank, but they said a refund depends on the seller’s approval—which makes this even more outrageous.
Agoda, I want a full refund immediately and a response to my dispute. I also demand that all my personal and credit card information be permanently removed from your system. Stop deceiving people with fake hotel listings.
They provided a different reservation number and asked me not to mention Agoda. Of course, the room was invalid and the hotel declared that it was not operating; they even helped by sending a petition for a chargeback. Apart from the confirmation to be sent by the hotel via email, I do not accept any reservation numbers you provide. I will only accept the reservation confirmation email sent to me by the hotel. Otherwise, I urgently request a full refund of my money without any deductions. Do not try to buy time; I have already applied to the necessary legal channels and to the holiday site institutions that share your listings.
They said they would try to reach the hotel for about a week, and if they couldn't, they would cancel. I don't understand what extra time you will gain by waiting another week when the process has already been prolonged and I've lost enough time. So, I will wait for you and not make another reservation. During this time, the hotel and rooms I want to stay in will be booked, and I will be a victim again. If I make another reservation and you also make the reservation, then I will have two reservations at different hotels for the same dates. Thanks to agoda.com, my vacation plan has turned into a complete nightmare and I have neither the joy nor the enthusiasm left. All my positive comments about you on social media must have been advertisements. Through my experiences and the institutions where I filed complaints against you, I met other people who were also victimized by you, and we had the opportunity to combine our complaint petitions. Seeing people who ended up in even worse situations in front of the hotel made me feel lucky.

I will not be able to make my travel plans because of you. Why should I pay for something I will not receive service for and then wait to get it back? Why should I pay you by the statement due date? Get a response today and cancel for free. I hope you understand how much you have victimized me. The bank gave you information about the refund and you said you would not refund. Friends, research who owns agoda.com before making a reservation here! Find out where your money is going, I recommend you look into it. See who we are providing capital to—I didn't check and I deeply regret it from every angle. They keep sending the same codes over and over, the emails are scripted, the people sending them might even be robots, and I'm really fed up with this. They say, 'Our partner sent this code, say this, declare it this way, say that.' Can the hotel send me a reservation confirmation email? A big no. Nothing has changed. The hotel operates on a full-board basis and they only sold me a room with breakfast included. There isn't even such an option at the hotel. They neither know nor recognize the hotel; they even entered the phone number wrong in the system. I consider the money gone, and because of what I've experienced, the money has stopped being important. Now it's your turn to experience what you put me through. My issue with you is now personal. As long as this complaint stays here, if even one person doesn't do business with you, it's a win for both me and that person. No solution has been provided for my complaint and agoda.com does not wish to offer one.

It’s very easy, you know? Let me explain that to you too; there is a famous browser, and if you type 'translator' there, you can translate from Turkish to whatever language you want. When you sent me emails in different languages, I used that to translate :) You keep sending the same codes repeatedly and expect something different to happen :) It’s like a joke. Instead of codes, have the hotel send me a reservation confirmation. Since there are other victims as well, the hotel management is helping as much as they can. So what are you doing? It’s very easy to resolve this. But you keep stalling.
Friends, this company called Agoda sells as if they are booking a room at one hotel, but actually makes a reservation at a completely different hotel. They are literally selling a product with a fake listing and sending a different product, and expect you to accept it. I booked for Fethiye Akdeniz Beach Hotel, but they told me you made a reservation at Mersin Akdeniz Hotel. Even on the receipt, it says Akdeniz Beach Hotel. At least they could be close to each other. And they say they will give app money for the mistake. No. Do I accept your offer to reserve a room for me at a completely different hotel in a different city that I don't want, and also refund $50? No. And on top of that, you want to process the refund through your own system so that I'll make another purchase. What did I even buy, what are they giving me? They keep sending me the same emails over and over. Friends, do not choose this company under any circumstances, the experiences speak for themselves. Even though I know English, I can't make sense of this situation. Don't waste your once-a-year holiday dealing with ridiculous things. Shop from reliable and well-known places. I've been dealing with this nonsense for 12 days and I've been embarrassed in front of my spouse. We have no excitement or joy left. Because of this company, we couldn't make our holiday plans and missed out on opportunities. While waiting for things to be sorted, now they say we have a reservation at some random hotel. Waiting for their response cost us time and energy. They don't even want to refund the money they took unfairly. What am I supposed to do with your 48 USD AgodaCash? Would I ever shop from you again? I don't even care if you refund more than what I spent. It's not about the money, it's about trust. Refund my money in full and delete all my information from your system. Get out of my life already.
They finally sent an email stating that my refund process would be completed within a maximum of 30 days or by the credit card statement date, and that they would refund my money in full. Let's see, now we'll wait for this process to be completed and see what happens next.

Happend to me yestarday also, Still agoda stall me and keep me waiting with the bot, it' now over 12 hours and doesnt hear from any human assistance. I have book a hotel over online it's seem to close like years ago, after happening this , i check for the review and many people faced like me before, i wonder why agoda still listed the hotel that is not exists anymore and keep charging without refunding.
