My Steam account was hacked, and despite my efforts to recover it, I discovered that my favorite game, Rust, had received a VAC ban. I regained access to my account on January 7, 2025, only to find out that VAC bans cannot be lifted. Steam claims the user is responsible, but what about the lack of preventive measures on their end?
Hackers gain access via links resembling official Steam links. Once clicked, they can instantly change the email, phone number, and security settings, leaving the user helpless. This is a security failure by Steam, not the user's fault.
I never used cheats or any unfair advantage in Rust or any other multiplayer game. Why is there no ban on Counter-Strike, 7 Days to Die, or PUBG? Clearly, the cheater exploited Rust after hacking my account. All login data, including location and IP, are available to Steam, proving I was not in control.
I demand a refund for Rust or a resolution to this unfair ban. My trust in Steam's security and support is severely shaken, and I expect immediate action. Please address this issue promptly.
