Steam Account Hacked and Hit With $105 in Unauthorized Charges

On 20.09.2026, I discovered that a total of 105 USD of unauthorized transactions had been carried out on my Steam account without my knowledge, permission or approval. My Steam account name is “mcelebi29” and the last four digits of my credit card used on Steam are 3460. Out of this unauthorized total of 105 USD, 100 USD was sent as a gift balance to another Steam account and the remaining 5 USD was left as wallet balance on my own Steam account. None of these transactions were performed by me, and I did not give any instruction or approval for sending a 100 USD gift to another user. In addition, I detected that my account was accessed from abroad without my Steam Guard verification code being shared by me and without any explicit confirmation from my side. For this reason, I believe that my account was compromised by unauthorized third parties and the payment transactions were carried out without my knowledge. As soon as I noticed the situation, I contacted my bank, cancelled my card, and reported the unauthorized transaction to the bank as well. I kindly request that Steam thoroughly review the login and transaction history of my account, check from which IP addresses and locations these transactions were carried out, and clearly explain how any transaction could be made from my account without my Steam Guard code being shared or any confirmation given by me. In addition, I request that all necessary security measures be taken on my account, including blocking any suspicious access, reviewing active sessions and settings, and ensuring that my account is fully secured against similar incidents in the future. I also request a full refund of the total 105 USD that was transacted on my account without my knowledge and approval, including the 100 USD sent as a gift to another account and the 5 USD left on my account. I ask that this security breach and the unauthorized transactions on my Steam account be examined in detail, that I be informed clearly about how this incident occurred, and that my grievance be resolved by refunding the full amount.
