Snapchat Stuck on "Select Emoji" Prompt

I'm trying to make a shortcut on Snapchat, but it keeps asking me to choose an emoji, which is stopping me from creating the shortcut. I have to send my snaps one by one by selecting each person. I need a definitive solution to this problem. I've tried everything - updating the app, reinstalling it - but it's still not working. Also, I've noticed that my photos get deleted automatically after a specific period of time.
