Cannot Access My Old Snapchat Account – Verification Only Goes to My Old Phone Number

I am unable to log into my old Snapchat account because the verification code only gets sent to my old phone number, which I no longer have access to. My email is linked to the account, but when I try to reset my password, Snapchat still insists on sending the code to my old number instead of giving me an option to verify through email.
I know my correct password, yet I am locked out because of this flawed security process. There should be an option to receive the code via email if the linked phone number is unavailable. Snapchat, please fix this issue and allow users to recover their accounts through email verification!
