On August 23, 2024, I purchased a brand new Skoda Kodiaq Prestige from the dealership I mentioned. Starting from the second day, a warning sign (an exclamation mark inside a yellow triangle) appeared on the left side of the vehicle's onboard computer. Following this, my vehicle's driving assistants intermittently deactivated and reactivated on their own, and this has been happening for at least 10 days. I called the service center to report my issue, but the person I spoke to said it wasn’t a major problem and could be checked during my next scheduled maintenance. However, for the last 4-5 days, while driving, the vehicle, when in D mode, has suddenly shifted into park by itself, engaging the parking brake and coming to a stop in the middle of the road. To resolve the issue temporarily, I had to stop the vehicle, restart it, shift back to D mode, and continue driving.
After experiencing this issue, I took the car to "Doğuş Oto Maslak", where I purchased it. I explained that my safety was at risk, the vehicle had a serious problem, and given that it’s a new car, it could be a manufacturing defect. I requested a replacement. They took my car in for service, provided me with a replacement vehicle, and said they would fix the issue and get back to me. However, I expressed my concern that if this happens on a major road, it could lead to a serious accident. Even if the issue is repaired, I will have hesitation every time I drive on major roads. If the vehicle is replaced, I would feel much safer and more at ease. Therefore, I am seeking assistance from you, the Skoda management team.
As an additional note, due to the vehicle coming to a sudden stop and shifting into park mode on its own, I had a minor accident. When I restarted the car and put it in reverse to continue driving, the car jerked back and hit a metal barrier. The left rear light and bumper were damaged. While this may not be a major issue, as I mentioned, this could result in a much more serious accident, risking both my life and the lives of those around me. I look forward to your assistance.
