Siemens EQ500 Coffee Machine Keeps Giving Error
I purchased a Siemens EQ500 fully automatic coffee machine in November, but it keeps showing an "exit canceled" error. After just three weeks, the orange gasket inside broke, and they replaced it. However, now it gives an error every 10 cups. I scheduled a service appointment for Monday, May 20th. The technician arrived the next day and started by saying, "We specialize in home appliances, not coffee machines." He constantly took directives over the phone. As a consumer, I felt more knowledgeable than him.
The machine kept giving the "exit canceled" error while claiming it dispensed coffee. I showed him, "Look, this is a joke, right? It barely dispensed half a cup, and there's coffee everywhere inside." He claimed it was a "general cleaning issue." I paid ₺1,450 for a six-month-old machine, and I use the original descaler and Brita filter. I told him not to make excuses.
He then gave me an assignment: "We'll leave the service ticket open until Saturday. You need to record three videos and send them to me. We might need to take the machine to the service center for further inspection." The Siemens service's response was, "You only send in the machine if it stops working." I used an EQ300 for almost three years without any issues. We upgraded to this model, but it clearly has a chronic problem—just look at all the complaints.
I don't want to send my machine to the service center because I know what will happen: "We descaled it, ₺1,450," or "We changed the circuit board, ₺7,000-₺8,000." I don't accept these solutions. I want either a brand new machine or an upgrade to a higher model with the price difference covered. The service technicians always give the same excuses, and each time the machine comes back worse. I recommend putting an end to this practice.
It seems all products from Media Markt are faulty, according to several sources. Siemens is probably the only brand that criticizes its own products. "You're not selling it, Media Markt, brother, how is it not the same?" Please resolve this issue before I have to take it to Consumer Rights. Sixteen thousand liras is not something you find on the street.
