Samsung UE55MU9000TXTK Panel Failure Complaint And Excessive Repair Cost

49

My Samsung UE55MU9000TXTK television suddenly lost its screen display for no apparent reason. The sound still works normally, but there is no image on the screen at all.

Because of this issue, we requested official service support. When the service team came and inspected the television on-site, they stated that the problem was caused by a panel failure and told us that the repair cost would be approximately $990. Naturally, we did not accept this offer because it is unreasonable for a repair fee to be almost equal to the cost of purchasing a brand-new television.

What makes the situation even more frustrating is that the television stopped working completely on its own without any user error, physical damage, or misuse. In addition, during our own research, we discovered that this appears to be a chronic and widely reported issue affecting this model.

Despite not proceeding with the repair, the service team still charged us approximately $34 as a service inspection fee before leaving.

Since this television failed without any user fault and appears to suffer from a known chronic panel defect, I request that Samsung provide a free replacement or an appropriate goodwill solution for this defective product. A premium brand like Samsung should stand behind its products and support customers facing widespread manufacturing-related failures like this.
