Samsung Left Me Without a Working Refrigerator or Proper Compensation
I purchased a Samsung refrigerator from Media Markt and added insurance on top. Four years later, the refrigerator broke down. The service center quoted a repair cost of ₺7,500, and while there was a repair option, when we submitted the report to the insurance company and the store, they told us that the refrigerator had been deemed a total loss. They said we would be given a gift card equal to the invoice amount from Media Markt and that we would also need to hand over the refrigerator to them. However, I cannot purchase a new refrigerator with the gift card they provided. A new refrigerator costs ₺40,000, while the gift card they offer is only ₺5,000, and they are refusing to cover the repair cost. As a result, I have been left in a difficult situation. Not having a refrigerator for 4 to 5 days in a home is a disaster in today's conditions, and I live in a hot city like Mersin. This refrigerator had performance issues during every summer when the weather was hot. What can I do with a refrigerator that struggles under such conditions in a place like Mersin, where temperatures are high? I want my issue to be resolved. This refrigerator had already broken down within the first few months of purchase, was sent to the service center, and its display panel was replaced. Despite all these repairs, they still refuse to replace the refrigerator. We have been greatly inconvenienced. Every summer, my products spoil because of this refrigerator.
