Pegasus Direct Flight Changed to Connecting Itinerary
I purchased a direct flight with Pegasus Airlines for the route Çukurova Uluslararası Havalimanı – Köln, flight PC1583 on 24.01.2027 at 04:05, with PNR 28W78E. I specifically chose this direct Pegasus flight, even though there were cheaper options with other airlines, because it was advertised as a direct flight. However, some time after purchasing the ticket, the flight was cancelled as a direct service and turned into a connecting flight, which extended my total travel time by about 6 hours and caused a clear loss of time for me. The same situation happened to me before, on 23.05.2026, with PNR 1ML6TR. Again, Pegasus sold me a direct flight and then, months after selling the ticket, changed it to a connecting itinerary. This recurring practice, where flights are sold as direct and later turned into connecting ones, creates a serious sense of mistrust and feels like an unfair commercial practice. I did not choose cheaper alternatives with other airlines because I trusted Pegasus and paid specifically for direct flights. In my opinion, after tickets are sold, repeatedly converting direct flights into connecting ones constitutes an unfair competition practice and harms passengers like me who make their plans based on the direct flight information at the time of purchase. From Pegasus itself I have no special individual request other than for them to stop this practice. My main expectation is from our state authorities. I request that the relevant public institutions and regulators do not remain unresponsive to this situation, that inspections be initiated regarding Pegasus’s practices in this regard, and that, if necessary, administrative fines and similar sanctions be imposed so that such arbitrary changes do not become a habit and do not create unfair competition in the market.
