Increased noise and vibration can be normal for certain Oral-B models, but they may also indicate a malfunction — especially if the behavior changed suddenly.
It’s normal if:
You have a model from the Pro, Vitality, or Genius series — these can be louder than others (up to 70 dB)
The toothbrush is set to an intense cleaning mode (like "whitening" or "deep clean")
You just replaced the brush head — a new head may produce a slightly louder sound
It’s not normal if:
The sound is louder than before, especially if there’s a grinding noise
The vibration feels uneven or jerky
There’s noticeable looseness in the body or a humming noise when turning it on
You hear a metallic crackling or clicking sound
What to do:
Remove the brush head and check for dirt or residue at the connection point
Clean the head and base with a damp cloth to remove buildup
Try a different brush head — sometimes the issue comes from the head itself
If the issue persists, contact Oral-B service — toothbrushes usually come with a 2-year warranty
