Opodo Charges $119 for Prime Membership Without User Consent
I used Opodo only to purchase an airline ticket and did not buy or sign up for any Prime membership. Despite this, on January 12, I noticed a charge of $119 on my İş Bankası credit card listed as “Opodo Prime.” Since I did not make any purchase, plan selection, or membership enrollment, this charge was made entirely without my knowledge or consent.
It has now been 13 days since I noticed this charge. During this time, I attempted to contact Opodo by phone, but no one answered, and I was unable to find a usable email address for support. I also logged into my Opodo account to check whether there was any Prime plan or active subscription associated with my account, but no membership or plan appeared. Afterward, I contacted my bank, İş Bankası, canceled my credit card, and submitted a formal dispute for this charge.
I am requesting a full refund of the $119 that was charged to my card without my explicit approval, and I demand that any Opodo Prime membership registered in my name—if one exists—be canceled immediately. I also specifically request a written explanation detailing how this charge was made and on what form of authorization it was based.
