Cancel Netflix Over Inappropriate Language in Child-Rated Movies

As a family, we decided to watch the Netflix movie “Obsessions” because it was labeled suitable for ages 10 and up. We trusted the age rating and thought it would be safe to watch together with our children. However, within the very first minutes of the film, we were shocked to hear extremely offensive and inappropriate profanity.

We were left speechless. How can a movie rated 10+ start with such language? This is misleading and harmful to families who rely on Netflix’s rating system to protect their children. It is shameful that such content is categorized for young audiences. Families like ours, who simply want to enjoy a safe and respectful film experience, end up being exposed to unnecessary vulgarity.

We are raising our children to be respectful and well-mannered individuals, but Netflix is normalizing offensive language in content that should be family-friendly. This is unacceptable and deeply disappointing.

I strongly urge Netflix to review its content rating system, remove inappropriate language from movies labeled for children, and take responsibility for the misleading classifications. Families deserve to trust the ratings provided on this platform.
