Monkey typically uses your device’s GPS, IP address, or profile settings to show an approximate location and match you with nearby users.
While it usually does not display your exact address, sharing any location information can still reduce your privacy.
To protect yourself, open your phone’s settings and set Monkey’s location permission to “Never” or “Only While Using the App.”
On iPhone and Android, you can also disable “Precise Location” so apps receive only a broader area instead of your exact position.
If Monkey continues showing a location, it may be estimating it from your IP address rather than GPS data.
