Merrell Moab 3 Mid GTX Product Description Changed After Purchase
I purchased a pair of Merrell Moab 3 Mid GTX boots through Amazon. At the time I bought the product, the material section in the product description only stated “Other” regarding the leather information. I relied on this information when making my purchase decision. However, after some time had passed, I revisited the same product page and noticed that the description had been updated to specifically state that the boots were “made from pigskin leather.”
For me, pigskin is absolutely not an acceptable material. This information was not clearly disclosed at the time of purchase, which makes me feel misled as a customer. As soon as I learned about the material, I immediately stopped using the boots, and the product remains only lightly used.
When I contacted Amazon customer service regarding the issue, I was told that they would only take action based on the outcome of a Consumer Arbitration Committee decision and otherwise could not process my request. However, this process is extremely long and exhausting, and I do not want my inconvenience to be prolonged unnecessarily.
Because the pigskin material information was not clearly disclosed when I purchased the product, I request that these boots — which I bought based on misleading product information — be accepted for return and that a full refund be issued, even though some time has passed since the purchase. My order number is 404-1632771-8533966.
