Marks & Spencer Dress Shrunk 3 Sizes Despite Following Care Instructions

On June 25, 2026, I purchased the Linen Blend Mini Dress (10000001411032) from the Marks & Spencer Terracity store. I washed the dress at 40°C according to the care instructions provided on the label, and I also placed it in a tumble dryer because the care symbols indicated that machine drying was allowed. Despite following the instructions, the dress shrank by approximately 2–3 sizes and is now impossible to wear.
I left the product at the store for inspection on July 14. Today, I received a standard message regarding my inspection request number UI000014925, stating: “Your request has not been approved because no manufacturing defect was found in the product. Please collect your product from our Antalya Terracity store within 30 days.” The product information states that the fabric contains 55% linen. Therefore, I do not find it acceptable that the dress shrank so significantly despite being given care instructions that allowed tumble drying. I believe the care instructions may also be incorrect or misleading.
I request that the inspection result for this dress, which shrank severely despite being used according to the provided instructions, be reviewed again. If possible, I request a full refund or, at minimum, a replacement product. I also ask that the manufacturer and store review and correct the tumble-drying symbol if it does not accurately reflect the product’s actual care requirements.
