LOT Polish Airlines Charged Me €165 Again for Prepaid Checked Baggage
On 21.09.2026 I travelled with LOT Polish Airlines on flight LO0642 from Bucharest Otopeni (OTP) to Warsaw (WAW). For this trip, my travel agency had already paid for my second checked baggage in advance, and this was issued as associated EMDs to my ticket 0802428041022, in the name of Mr Bogdan Nicola (EMD‑A 0804095652627 and EMD‑A 0804095652628). Despite this, at check‑in at Otopeni Airport I was charged again for the same second baggage and had to pay 165 EUR. The check‑in staff did not verify in the system that there was already an associated EMD for my second bag and proceeded to charge me as if no prepayment existed. I have the passenger receipt for this 165 EUR payment issued in my name by LOT. I contacted LOT to submit a complaint and request a refund, but when trying to fill in the online form I was not able to select the “refund” option, so I could not complete my request properly. The travel agency that originally paid for the baggage informed me that I have to request the refund myself directly from the airline. I kindly request a full refund of the wrongly collected 165 EUR for the second baggage, since this service was already prepaid and associated to my ticket through the EMDs mentioned above. I also ask that you review what happened at Otopeni check‑in so that such double charging does not occur again to other passengers.
