I Can’t Install Apps on My LG WebOS TV UF8507—No Updates After Just 10 Years

I own the LG WebOS TV UF8507, a 2015 model, and up until now I’ve been very satisfied with how it performed. It worked reliably without any hardware issues for nearly a decade. But as soon as we entered 2025, I hit a wall—no more software updates. That means I can’t install any new apps or even update the existing ones. It’s like my TV just got cut off from everything smart about being a Smart TV.

Nobody told me when I bought this that it had an expiration date. I wasn’t warned that after 10 years, the TV would become basically obsolete and disconnected. I didn’t expect a product from a major brand like LG to be treated like a disposable item, especially when it still works perfectly in every other way.

LG, this is not how you treat loyal customers. At the very least, you should provide extended software support or offer a solution for older model owners like me. I shouldn’t be forced to throw away a functioning TV just because the software has been abandoned. Step up and take care of your long-term users!
