I Sent Ethereum to My Ledger Using the Wrong Network and Now I Can’t Access It

28

Earlier today, I attempted to transfer Ethereum (ETH) to my Ledger cold wallet, but made the mistake of choosing the Optimism network instead of the Ethereum (ETH) mainnet—simply because it had lower gas fees. Only after the transaction did I realize that Ledger requires ETH to be sent via the Ethereum network for proper detection and access.

Now I’m left in complete confusion and panic. I don’t know where my funds are—did I lose them permanently, or are they retrievable somehow? I’ve done some online research and have screenshots to support my case, but the instructions I’ve found are either incomplete or too technical to follow. This is not something an average user can navigate easily.

Ledger, please step up and offer real guidance for users who make common network errors like this. There should be built-in warnings or automatic checks that stop these irreversible mistakes from happening. Until then, if anyone from Ledger or the community can help me recover my ETH, I’d deeply appreciate it. I never want to repeat this again.
