İş Bankası Denied My Credit Card Fee Refund Without Unreasonable Spending Conditions
On December 27, 2024, my credit card statement showed a yearly fee of ₺365.38, plus a BSMV charge of ₺18.27. I reached out to İş Bankası customer service about getting a refund for the annual fee, similar to what I've done in past years with a MaxiPuan credit, but I was told that there hasn't been any directive for that this year. They mentioned that I would have to agree to spend ₺90,000 over a period of six months in order to get the fee back. I shared my concerns, highlighting that other banks offer comparable services without these restrictions. Regrettably, this discussion did not lead to any useful outcome. The representative shared details about the Troy no-fee credit card option, and I decided to apply for it. Given this experience, I doubt I will continue a long-term relationship with İş Bankası. Their approach seems overly limiting and unhelpful, particularly when there are more favourable alternatives out there.
