Hotels.com Overcharged My Credit Card Beyond the Approved Booking Total
I made a reservation under the name Melike A**** through Hotels.com for TUI Magic Life Belek with a check-in date of September 7, 2026. Although the total amount displayed during booking was $1,344, I noticed the following evening while checking my bank statement that $1,383 was actually charged to my credit card.
I have both the Hotels.com receipt and a screenshot of my bank's transaction details, which clearly prove this price discrepancy. I attempted to reach Hotels.com customer support regarding the issue, but I could not connect to a live agent over the phone, and the platform's AI assistant offered no real solution, leaving me with zero support for the overcharge.
I demand that the extra amount charged beyond what I originally approved be identified and refunded to my card immediately, alongside a clear written explanation detailing why this discrepancy occurred.
Dear Ms. Melike, Thank you for informing us about the discrepancy between the amount paid and the amount charged to your card for your reservation at Magic Life Belek hotel via Hotels.com. In the document you sent, the transaction for reservation number 72078231476134 appears as a pending authorization. In other words, the charge has not yet been posted. The discrepancy in question is due to a different exchange rate calculation associated with international banking transactions. If, after the actual charge is processed, any discrepancy still appears, we kindly ask you to share with us the bank payment documents that show the overcharge, so that we can assist you with this matter. Please forward the relevant bank transaction. Sincerely, Customer Service Team
