I own a 2014 Honda Civic and am the second owner of the vehicle. Over time, I’ve started noticing paint peeling from multiple areas: the front and rear windshields and along the roof trim edges. This isn’t regular wear and tear—it’s clearly a defect in the paint quality.
I contacted Honda customer service, and they referred me to a local authorized service center—Kardelen Honda in Diyarbakır. However, when I spoke to them and explained the issue, I was told that they do not acknowledge paint defects beyond six years, regardless of the cause.
So essentially, Honda admits that if a paint issue happens after year six, even if it's due to their own manufacturing fault, you’re on your own. No support. No accountability.
This is crucial information for anyone considering a used Honda Civic over six years old—expect paint issues, and expect to cover the repair costs yourself.
I had previously planned to upgrade to a newer Honda model, but this experience has completely changed my mind. A quality brand should stand behind its vehicles, especially when it comes to known problems like premature paint failure.
