Goodyear EfficientGrip Tires Caused Severe Vehicle Pulling and Steering Vibration
On July 20, 2026, I purchased four Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance summer tires (size 205/55 R16) on the recommendation of Yildiz Wheel Alignment and Balancing in Corlu. The dealer stated that the tires came with a two-year warranty, and they performed a wheel alignment before mounting them on my vehicle that same day. Immediately after installation, the car began pulling heavily to the right, and the steering wheel started vibrating noticeably at higher speeds.
I returned to the shop to report the issue, but they were unable to resolve it and sent me away, claiming the vehicle itself was at fault. I then took my car to an authorized Volkswagen dealership service center for a thorough inspection. Their technicians examined the suspension and alignment in detail and found zero mechanical issues. Finally, when they swapped the two front tires, the car began pulling to the left instead of the right, proving conclusively that the defect was in the tires.
With this proof, I returned to Yildiz Wheel Alignment and Balancing on July 27 to request warranty service, and the shop retained all four tires. I demanded either a brand-new set of replacement tires or a full refund. I paid $511 for the four tires and $22 for the wheel alignment, bringing my total expense to $533. Despite the clear diagnosis, my request for a replacement or refund was denied at that stage.
On August 19, the shop called to inform me that the tires had returned from the factory inspection with no manufacturing defect found, and that they would not honor any warranty replacement or refund. I have been left stranded for nearly a month. I was sold defective tires under the premise of a two-year warranty, yet neither the dealer nor the manufacturer will stand behind their product.
Because driving on these compromised tires creates a serious safety hazard, I demand a prompt resolution through either a brand-new set of replacement tires or a full refund of the $533 paid.
