Free Fire Account Scam on WhatsApp

I found a seller on WhatsApp who was selling a Free Fire account, so I paid the seller the requested amount. After receiving the payment, the seller told me that the Facebook account was locked and demanded an additional ₹1,800 to unlock it. I searched on Google and Gemini, and both indicated that this might be a scam. When I called the seller and told him it was fake, he claimed that online sellers obtain accounts through legitimate means and insisted that he would not refund my money. I believe I have been scammed and request help recovering my money.
