FamPay Wrong QR Code Payments Sent to Unknown Recipients
I am writing regarding an incorrect QR code payment made today through the FamPay app from my younger brother’s account. On 23–24 September 2026, a total amount of ₹1700 was mistakenly sent via the QR scanner option in FamPay to unknown recipients. The money went to accounts that we do not know personally, and after realizing the mistake, we understood that the amount had been transferred to the wrong persons. At least one of the recipients is now refusing to return the money, and we are extremely worried about this loss. We do not know whether the QR codes belonged to any registered merchant or to individual users, and we only realized the error after the payments were completed. We have so far not been able to resolve the issue and our attempts to recover the funds from the recipients have been unsuccessful. We have not yet been able to reach FamPay customer care properly about this matter. I request that FamPay urgently investigate these incorrect QR code transactions totaling ₹1700 and, if technically and legally possible, reverse them and refund the full amount back to my brother’s FamPay account. I also request clear information and guidance on what can be done in such cases of wrong QR payments, and what preventive measures FamPay can provide so that similar incidents do not happen again in the future.
