Expertchat AI Misleading Trial Renewal — I Request Full Refund

On December 19, 2024, I purchased a 3-day subscription from Expertchat AI and paid 0.99 USD. I did not save my card information anywhere—not on my computer or any device. When checking my bank statement today, I saw that on December 22, 2024, another 29.99 USD had been withdrawn from my card without any approval, password verification, or reminder email. We cannot speak to the company directly, and there is no live support option. The only way to contact them is by email, and the responses are in English.

I emailed the company explaining the situation, and they replied with:
“We would like to clarify that the 0.99 USD fee corresponds to the 3-day trial subscription. As stated during registration, once the trial ends, the subscription automatically renews to a monthly plan of 29.99 USD. Unfortunately, based on our Refund Policy, we cannot process a refund at your request. Please do not submit a refund claim, as you do not meet the eligibility criteria. You can find the details on our official website.”

After I said I would file a complaint, they offered a 50% refund. I told them I would file a complaint regardless and requested proof that my subscription had been canceled. They then sent another email stating that the full amount would be refunded and that my subscription had been canceled (although I am not convinced). They also said it may take up to 7 business days for the refund to appear.

I am filing this complaint against Expertchat AI because they do not properly inform their customers, they do not send any warning email on the last day of the trial, and the “renews monthly unless canceled” notice was not shown during the subscription process. They took my card details without clear disclosure, did not inform me that the subscription had to be manually canceled, and although they claim to have a no-refund policy, they apply it inconsistently depending on the customer’s reaction. If a customer is calm, they simply refuse refunds.

Additionally, the 3-day subscription is sold with a hidden word-limit, which is never disclosed at the time of purchase.

Throughout this entire process, I am also disappointed with my Enpara card (QNB Finansbank) for allowing this payment to go through without any approval request or notification.
