Expedia Charges Guest Credit Card After Hotel Cancels Booking 2527894612

On August 6, 2026, I made a hotel reservation for 1774 Kazdagı Termal Butik Otel Akcay Edremit via the Expedia app, totaling $488 under booking code 2527894612. Subsequently, on August 9, 2026, the hotel canceled the reservation under the claim that the rate fell below their list price. However, according to the hotel, even though this cancellation was reported to Expedia Group (p*************@expedia.com), my credit card was still charged the exact same day.

We only learned that the reservation had been canceled by the hotel upon arriving at the property; no prior notification was provided to me by either Expedia or the hotel. Had I received such cancellation notice in a timely manner, I would have canceled the booking myself and prevented my card from being charged.

I do not accept being charged for a reservation that was canceled without my knowledge. I demand that Expedia process an immediate refund of this $488 charge back to the original card and provide a written explanation regarding this process.
