I Face Unfair Admin Fees from Europcar — £100 Charged for Two Minor Fines
On October 24, 2025, I was informed by Europcar of two separate fines — one for £90.00 and another for £27.40 dated October 27, 2025. Following this, I was notified that an “admin fee” of £50 per fine (a total of £100) would be charged. These administration fees are almost equal to the actual fines themselves, which I find unreasonably high and unjustified.
I rented the vehicle from Europcar’s London XXX Airport branch and purchased a full insurance package. So far, I’ve only received a notification — no charges have yet been made to my card. I contacted Europcar customer service via email, but I have not received any response. This is the first time I’ve encountered such a high “administration fee.”
I would like to note that I am willing to pay the official fines directly to the authorities myself. Therefore, I request that the £100 administration fee be canceled and that no deductions be made from my credit card for this purpose.
