Etsy is not a trustworthy company! On three different occasions, they suspended our accounts without any valid reason, claiming “violations” that were never explained. I personally know many others who have experienced the same issue. They charge a ₺700 ($22) account setup fee, which is deducted as sales occur. However, the commission fees are unfairly high — nearly half of each sale. Once your shop starts performing well, they suspend your account without justification and seize your funds, claiming a policy violation.
In addition, their security system seems weak, as fraudulent emails pretending to be from Etsy often request that sellers re-enter their bank details. When I checked online, I found many similar complaints globally, and apparently, the company’s CEO has even faced legal action over these issues.
My advice: be very careful with Etsy — it appears to exploit sellers rather than support them.
