I Face Unjust Charges from Etsy After Trying to Close My Shop
Today, I logged into Etsy.com to open an online shop. I listed one product, but when the site saved my card information automatically, I became concerned about security. I tried to contact Etsy support, but couldn’t reach anyone. Within 1–2 hours, I decided to delete all my personal information and permanently close my shop, as I no longer felt safe using the platform.
However, when I tried to close my account, Etsy requested an additional payment. I had no choice but to pay in order to proceed. I made two separate transactions — one for ₺771 ($24) and another for ₺173 ($5). Both payments are still showing as pending (authorization hold) in my bank account. I have screenshots of all the transactions, which I’ve already shared.
I never benefited from Etsy’s services in any way and request an immediate refund of all payments made. I also ask that my account be permanently closed and my personal data removed from the platform.
