Estée Lauder Day Cream Caused Severe Allergic Reaction
On 2 October 2026 I purchased an Estée Lauder day cream from the Boots store in Uxbridge, London. Before buying it, I clearly informed the staff member, Miss P***, that I have very sensitive facial skin and therefore did not want any product that could trigger a reaction. She reassured me that this cream was “just cucumber” and that it would not cause any problems, and strongly encouraged me to buy it. On 7 October 2026, after applying the cream, I developed a severe allergic reaction with redness, itching and skin peeling on my face. I am a doctor and have needed to use antihistamine treatment because of this reaction. I am very disappointed that my clear warning about my sensitive skin was ignored and that the product was presented as completely harmless. The cream is very expensive, and given the discomfort and inconvenience I have experienced, I request a full refund for this Estée Lauder day cream from Boots. I also expect this incident and the guidance given by the staff member to be reviewed so that similar situations do not occur with other customers in the future.
