I registered through eSIM IO, purchased an internet package, and used my line without any problems while traveling in Italy. However, once my internet package was exhausted, the remaining balance in my account was automatically activated and approximately $2 was deducted from my balance without any warning or approval.
My main objection is not actually about the amount charged, but about the complete lack of any clear notification inside the application when the package ended. I was told that email notifications are supposedly sent, but in 2026, relying only on email for such an important issue in a mobile application is not, in my opinion, a reasonable or customer-friendly approach. There was no visible in-app warning, no pop-up notification, and no confirmation request before my remaining balance started being consumed automatically.
If my account balance had been significantly higher — for example $50 — the entire amount could easily have been spent without me even realizing it. That possibility alone shows how risky and poorly designed this system currently is.
The reason I am writing this complaint is so that other users after me do not experience the same problem. I request that eSIM IO implement a clear, understandable, and approval-based warning system inside the application whenever an internet package is about to expire and before any remaining account balance is automatically used.
