Electrolux Dryer Fails Twice Within Two Months of Purchase

January 12 3:42 PM26

After purchasing the Electrolux EW7D395UT 9 kg dryer, it was installed on October 24 and I was only able to use it for about two months. On December 24, the machine broke down — the drum wouldn’t turn. I called the authorized service, they came to the house, disassembled the machine, and after working on it for about an hour said the belt was broken and the pulleys that turn the belt were cracked. They said they needed to take it to the workshop.

Because a belt snapping and pulleys cracking on a two-month-old machine is not acceptable, I explained that this is a manufacturing defect and that I want either the product replaced or my money refunded. But they said they couldn’t make that decision and took the machine for repair. My machine stayed in service for about 10 days and was re-installed on January 5.

On January 10, because my spouse and I work during the week, we ran the machine for the first time on the weekend and the program stopped halfway through — again the drum didn’t turn and I heard rattling broken sounds from inside. I experienced the same problem a second time in a very short period.

I called service again. When I contacted Electrolux, they say “the service decides,” and the service says “we only repair it, we can’t make that decision,” throwing responsibility back and forth. No one is offering a clear solution during this process.

I chose the Electrolux brand because I trusted them, having used their vacuum cleaner for many years without issues, but this product has been a serious disappointment. I paid $620 for this dryer, and it failing with the same fault twice within two months — with the last breakdown coming on first use after repair — makes me believe the unit is a defective model from production. I do not want the product repaired; I want a refund. I want my grievance resolved and a proper investigation into this faulty product so that a permanent solution is provided.

Yes, you made a call but you didn't provide any solution; my machine is still broken, waiting, customer satisfaction is zero, and the company doesn't care.

Friends, my machine has been faulty for about a month since the 24th interval, and no solution has been provided; now they claim the problem is user‑caused and are demanding payment. Stay away from Electrolux, I won't approach this self‑thinking brand—I got burned.

My machine broke down again, giving the same fault for the third time. This is disgraceful; dealing with such an incompetent brand is laughably ridiculous in this era, but I will advertise you everywhere I can. They refuse to admit the machine is faulty and didn't replace it. Since I bought it, I've been dealing with the defect. Because of the ego of the customer service staff, they've filled it with as many unqualified people as possible. My washing machine, which I bought as a 6‑kg model, the service technician who arrived with a 10‑kg one is taking pictures, saying it might be due to the load on the phone. They keep putting us in the naive's place three times in a row without any shame.

I bought the Electrolux 700 series dryer in October through Hepsiburada from the Carrefour SA store seller, paying about 30,000 TL. The product has not worked properly since day one. While the machine is running it suddenly stops and a strong plastic smell fills the area. This problem has occurred three times so far, and even though we have had the machine for about three months, we have not been able to use it for even ten days in total. Each time we had to wait days for service, sometimes up to about ten days. When the service technician came, they did not say it was a user error, yet the message sent to the center labels the situation as “user error.” I have repeatedly pointed out that my washing machine has a 6 kg capacity and that I load it accordingly, but they respond with “it must have been overloaded” and speak purely on speculation, trying to shift the responsibility away from themselves. I no longer want to use a constantly malfunctioning product that emits a plastic smell and does not inspire confidence in my home. Because no permanent solution has been provided despite multiple service visits, I request a refund of my Electrolux 700 series dryer and a reimbursement of the approximately 30,000 TL I paid. I have completely lost trust in this product and the service/center approach, and I will never recommend this brand to anyone, neither in my home nor in my environment.

My machine broke on February 8th, and even after a month it is still malfunctioning at home; the repair is not being done. Let everyone know, friends: think twice before buying a machine. Since the day I bought it, my faulty machine has received no help from anyone. They even tell me I can go to the Consumer Arbitration Board, just to drag the process out, and in the end that court decision will be the final word, leaving you with your disgrace.
