Duolingo Subscription Charged Without Consent and No Refund Received

On March 1, 2026, a subscription fee of $30 was charged to my account on the Duolingo app without my knowledge. I had previously started a free trial, but since I deleted the app and logged in from a different device, I forgot to cancel the trial. Despite this, the $30 was charged through Google Play without asking for my approval again.

On the same day, I contacted both Duolingo and Google Play support and submitted a refund request. They told me that the refund had been processed and that I should contact my bank. However, when I spoke with my bank, they said there was no refund transaction on record and that it would appear automatically if it had been issued. So even though I was told a refund was processed, no money has been returned to my account.

I have since canceled my subscription and have not used the app at all. I am requesting a full refund of the $30 charged for this subscription, which I did not use and which has caused me inconvenience.
