Duolingo Charged Me After Free Trial Cancellation

I started a 7-day free trial on the Duolingo app. Even though I canceled the subscription through the app on February 16, 2026—before the trial period ended—an amount of $56 was charged to my İş Bankası card on February 17, 2026.

What makes the situation even more concerning is that this charge was made to a different credit card that is not linked to the Gmail account registered in the app. After noticing the transaction, I contacted my bank and canceled the card. I also followed the instructions in Duolingo’s FAQ section and submitted a refund request.

Being charged for a subscription that I believed was covered under the free trial and that I canceled on time—especially from a card not directly linked to the app—has caused me financial harm and distress. I request that Duolingo issue a full refund of the $56 charged to my İş Bankası card and completely cancel this transaction.
