DHL Cargo Demands A Hefty Customs Fee

48

I am not an importer or exporter. I made a purchase from a well-known website and chose DHL cargo for speedy delivery. My package arrived, and I was notified. They asked for the invoice for the product, which I swiftly provided. However, they stated there was a disparity between the invoice amount and what the other party declared, and instructed me to pick up the item from the agency.

After much effort, I discovered the agency, but they demanded ₺32,000 from me—more than the product's price. I had to leave the stuff in customs. What's confusing is that DHL acted more like a customs agent than a transportation firm. They appeared to forget their core duty and acted as if they were looking for a customer for their agency.

In the end, I was unable to retrieve my shipment, and the money I spent on the product was wasted.
