I was called by Decathlon customer service and subjected to a condescending conversation. The reason for their call was to inform me that they had made a mistake, yet instead of offering a solution, they presented me with a dead-end. In short, I purchased a tent from the company. Three days later, I received a call telling me that the package, which was still in transit, contained the wrong product. They instructed me to go to their website, request an exchange, and initiate a return process for the shipment that hadn't even arrived yet. Initially, I asked if I could simply return the package upon arrival and have the correct item sent, but they refused. So, I tried to follow their instructions and request an exchange through their website, but the system did not allow it. As the situation became more complicated, I told the customer service representative that I would not accept the package and that they should send me the correct item. Instead of helping, they insisted, "If you refuse the package, it will be processed as a return, and you won't receive a replacement." While I was still trying to explain my issue, they hung up on me. The process they asked me to follow was not even possible through their own system, and in the end, I was left with nothing but a call rudely cut short. I genuinely wonder if they treat their customers the same way at their branches in Europe.
