Decathlon Delayed and Then Canceled My Order for a Product I Bought in Stock
I have shopped from Decathlon many times. The product I had been waiting to come back in stock for a year finally appeared in stock with 2 units available in the morning, and I immediately purchased one. Shortly after I made my purchase, the other unit was also sold, and the product was out of stock because it was a highly anticipated item that hadn’t been in stock for a long time. However, this is where the problems began. The shipment of the product was delayed, and I started to suspect that they wouldn’t send the product to me. Then, I received a message apologizing for the delay. I contacted customer service via WhatsApp to find out the reason (I have screenshots), and the representative told me that the product would be inspected at their warehouse and wouldn’t be shipped if there was any defect, but that the product was available and would be sent. After that, I received another message saying that the product wouldn’t be sent because it was damaged. When I contacted customer service again, this time I was informed that the product wouldn’t be shipped because it was actually out of stock. However, I purchased it while it was in stock with 2 units available. I suspect that Decathlon employees are giving different excuses to avoid selling the product to me. There is no evidence to support the claims in the messages they sent me. I believe they are reserving the product for their preferred customers. I kindly ask the relevant authorities in Turkey to investigate this matter.
