Dacia Sandero Headlight Fogging

Since purchasing my 2025 Dacia Sandero Stepway Extreme in March 2025, I have been experiencing persistent condensation in the front headlights. My vehicle has 11,000 km on it, and this issue has been present from the first day. The condensation becomes particularly noticeable in rainy and humid weather, and I am concerned that it may negatively affect driving safety. On March 12, 2026, I took my vehicle to the authorized Demireller Renault/Dacia service in Afyonkarahisar for its first maintenance and reported the headlight problem. The service informed me that all necessary tests regarding the headlights had been carried out, that the issue and the test results were recorded in their system, and that relevant photos and videos were also documented. Despite these official findings, Renault Mais headquarters initially refused to replace the headlights under warranty, citing “climatic conditions.” When I stated that this explanation was not technically reasonable, I was given another inconsistent and unconvincing explanation, this time claiming that the issue was caused by engine temperature. These contradictory statements, given while my vehicle is still under warranty and the problem has been clearly identified and recorded by the authorized service, indicate that the headlight condensation is a manufacturing or product-related defect and should be handled within warranty coverage. I do not accept being pushed out of warranty coverage or being delayed with inconsistent explanations. I request that Renault Mais take into account the records of the Afyonkarahisar Demireller Renault/Dacia service and replace the defective front headlight or headlights with new ones under warranty, free of charge, and provide a clear and concrete resolution to this issue without any further justification.
One week has passed and there has been no response at all. The front of the headlight is completely blocked; because of light scattering, oncoming vehicles keep warning me by flashing their indicators, and the headlight does not perform its function. It must be replaced. Your experts have confirmed 100% that it is a manufacturing defect. What are you still trying to prevent from being covered under warranty, Renault Mais?
Your last chance—did you even get in touch or offer any solution? The service says they can't repair it because it's a brand‑new product and that we must get Renault Mais's approval to replace it. While your service centers and expert warranty team acknowledge a manufacturing defect, why doesn’t Renault Mais approve it? What are you even offering the warranty for? I bought the car and extended the warranty for five years—why did I even do that? Your first excuse was some ridiculous climate‑condition excuse; you saw that the person on the other side isn’t going to swallow those excuses. This time you tried to come up with an excuse about the engine heating and cooling. My profession doesn’t allow you to feed me such excuses. Is the fogging of the headlight in the video due to climate or engine heating/cooling? What are you even talking about? It is a completely manufacturing‑origin error. Even your test experts performed foam tests and other tests and confirmed it’s a manufacturing defect—what’s your problem? In this video, the car stopped working for 1‑2 days and then fogged up; when the car came from Ankara to Afyon on a rainy road, the headlight was completely fogged, the light blinded oncoming drivers and gave me a pile of selectors and you understand they did it. The culprit in all of this is Renault Mais. This headlight will be replaced.
The experts from Renault Mais went to the Renault/Dacia service, evaluated the issue and decided on a replacement; even though they barely managed the replacement, they still had to do it even if they still refused to admit their own mistakes. And now they are spouting nonsense like "we don't want to replace the headlight for such cases"—there's no longer any expert coming from Renault Mais. In the end, I had to fight to get the factory‑defective headlight replaced. Unfortunately, in this country, polite negotiations are not understood by such institutions and organizations; we are forced to raise our voices, go to court, and fight for the right we are entitled to, which is very sad.
The car's headlights were constantly fogged, I took it to Demireller service on March 12, 2026, a specialist came, examined the problem and solved it by replacing the headlight. My replacement request was fulfilled.
