Continental EcoContact 6 Tires Developed Cracks and Severe Tread Deformation

When I purchased my 2023 Ford Puma brand new, with the vehicle first registered in 2024, it came factory-equipped with Continental EcoContact 6 tires. After approximately 40,000 km of use, cracks and deterioration developed on the tire sidewalls, along with excessive deformation of the tread that I do not consider normal.

I reported the issue to the dealer and had the tires sent for analysis. Following the inspection, I was told that there was no manufacturing defect and that I had driven too many kilometers, causing the tires to reach the end of their service life. However, considering both the age of the tires and the mileage, I believe that sidewall cracking and deterioration this severe within such a short period should not be considered the result of normal use.

I have seen numerous similar complaints about Continental EcoContact 6 tires on Şikayetvar. I have also seen reports from users stating that similar tire deterioration on 2023 and 2025 Ford Focus vehicles was acknowledged by the company as a manufacturing defect. Since my Ford Puma is equipped with tires from the same production line, of the same size and the same brand, I believe the problems I experienced should also be evaluated as a manufacturing-related defective product.

I request that Continental conduct a new inspection of the EcoContact 6 tires installed on my Ford Puma, acknowledge the issue as a manufacturing defect, and replace my tires with new ones free of charge as defective products.
