I Face Citroen C5 Aircross Recall Issue With Camshaft Chain Not Replaced

I brought my Citroen C5 Aircross to an authorized service center on October 17, 2025, to benefit from a voluntary recall campaign. The issue in question is the camshaft chain, which is widely known as a chronic problem in these vehicles. I dropped off my car at around 10:00 AM and was told I could pick it up at approximately 5:00 PM the same day.
When I returned to collect my vehicle, I was informed that the car had been “analyzed with AI,” and since no abnormal noise was detected, the camshaft chain was not replaced. However, based on numerous user reports and social media posts, I have seen that these chains can suddenly snap without warning, leaving drivers stranded and leading to extremely costly engine damage.
Despite the fact that this is a known chronic issue and that I was invited to the service under a “voluntary recall,” the brand chose not to perform a preventive replacement on my vehicle. This has caused me serious concern, and I now feel unsafe driving my car. I am genuinely anxious every time I use it.
I have contacted customer service multiple times and explained my situation in detail. However, I was repeatedly told to “bring the car to service,” even though it had already been inspected. No concrete assistance was provided, and I was essentially told that nothing could be done. This lack of support and accountability in such a serious matter has significantly damaged my trust in Citroen.
I request that, under the voluntary recall campaign, the camshaft chain in my vehicle be replaced with the updated 8 mm chain free of charge, as part of the campaign or warranty. This action would resolve my concerns and allow me to use my vehicle safely and with confidence again.
