Chevrolet Aveo Driver Airbag Recall Service Unresponsive
I wanted to take advantage of the free airbag replacement campaign launched by the Opel & Stellantis group due to a potential issue with the driver-side airbag in my 2012 Chevrolet Aveo T300. However, I have been unable to receive a proper response from Çetaş Çorlu, an authorized service center. During the last week of May, I had to spend hours repeatedly calling the service just to get through. After a great deal of effort, I finally managed to reach a service advisor.
During our conversation, I explained my situation and requested a free airbag replacement. I was told that I would be contacted, but approximately two weeks passed without anyone calling me or providing any information. I was not even given a case number or appointment/reference number. Since it was already extremely difficult to reach the service, I did not call again. Nevertheless, the fact that they failed to follow up despite their promise is seriously concerning to me.
I understand that the driver-side airbag may pose a risk of deploying with excessive force in the event of a crash, which is why the manufacturer group has reportedly launched a free replacement campaign. I cannot accept such a lack of attention when it concerns such an important safety component. God forbid, if I were to be involved in a serious accident, who would be held responsible for this negligence? I request that this safety risk with my vehicle be addressed as soon as possible and that I be contacted urgently to schedule an appointment for the free airbag replacement.
