Chery Tiggo 8 Sunroof Seals Cracked and Not Replaced

It has been over a year since we purchased our Chery Tiggo 8 as a brand-new vehicle, which we’ve enjoyed using as a family. However, cracks and tears have developed in the sunroof seals on both the right and left sides. Because of this, I opened a warranty claim on June 2, 2025, at the Chery dealership. Today, I called the service advisor to follow up and was given a standard response: the issue was deemed to be caused by external factors and thus not covered under warranty—my request was rejected. I take extreme care of my car, to the point of transporting it by tow truck to avoid adding mileage. I don’t even let anyone else wash it, fearing scratches! What kind of “external factor” could possibly cause this damage? I’ve recommended Chery to many people in my circle and have actively encouraged others to buy it through honest feedback. What exactly does Chery’s 5-year/150,000 km warranty cover? I’ve also been told that the sunroof seal can’t be replaced separately—the entire glass roof has to be changed, which I simply can’t afford. Selling a car isn’t the end of the job; standing behind the product and providing post-sales support is equally important. Let me be clear: if this issue isn’t resolved, I will bring it up everywhere I can and do everything in my power to discourage others from buying a Chery. There’s also a risk of water entering the vehicle, and I reserve all my legal rights for any material or moral damages that may result. I am awaiting a solution from Chery Turkey.
The process has been ongoing since June 2nd, and you still haven’t provided a concrete solution. You keep giving the same response; I’m really curious what this technical team has been evaluating for so long. Don’t you understand how serious this issue is? My car does not have a water leakage problem, but due to a torn seal made from poor quality raw material during production, and Chery ignoring this, my vehicle is at risk of water leakage. In fact, we can read and see here how you solve the water leakage problems of brand new cars just out of the showroom. I expect an urgent solution!
Yesterday, customer service called. Like a memorized song, they said the same things again. The result is a huge grievance. They are not interested in anything; they say they are, but after a certain period, they give the same answer as if they had actually done something. Just wasting time, if you buy it. For me, the Chery page is closed. I will never go near it or let anyone else go near it again.
