My ChatGPT For Business Account Was Banned Without Any Reason
I was the administrator of a ChatGPT for Business team account that was suddenly blocked around 24 June, after only about six days of use. The account contained important work-related data, including our company’s FDE consulting content and materials. After the ban, I completely lost access to this data and could not continue my work properly. Following the ban, I contacted OpenAI support multiple times. The only response I received was that the ban decision would be maintained and that my account allegedly violated the Terms of Use. However, support refused to explain which specific clause or rule was violated and directed me to review the hundreds of clauses on my own. I also requested a refund because the account was banned after only six days of use, but this request was rejected as well. At the same time, I was not offered any way to export or recover my existing data. In this situation, I expect OpenAI to at least clearly explain the reason for the ban and specify which provision of the Terms of Use my account allegedly violated. My primary expectation is that my account access will be restored and that I will be allowed to export all of my work data from the ChatGPT for Business team. If OpenAI insists on maintaining the ban and cannot restore access, then I request a full refund for the unused period and a way to export or retrieve the data stored in the account so that my company’s work and projects are not irreversibly damaged.
