Barum Bravuris 6 Tire Sidewall Split After Just One Month
About a month ago, I purchased four Barum Bravuris 6 205/55 R16 91V tires from Ak Oto Lastik, a tire shop I regularly use, for $72 each. On May 6, 2026, while driving normally on a straight road at low speed, the sidewall of one of these tires suddenly split. Although the vehicle had not hit a pothole or experienced any unusual impact, having this happen to a brand-new tire that was only one month old caused me serious financial and safety concerns.
A claim was submitted through my tire shop to the dealer and the authorized party, but my claim was rejected following an inspection on the grounds of “user error.” I had previously purchased four winter tires from the same shop and never experienced any problems, so I believe there may be a manufacturing or quality issue with this tire, which I used in the same normal manner.
I am requesting that the sidewall failure of this tire, which was only one month old, be re-examined objectively and in detail. If possible, I would like the tire to be replaced free of charge as a defective product, or for a reasonable solution to be offered.
