AVG Created Duplicate Subscriptions and Charged Me Multiple Times
I have been using AVG products for years, and over the past two years, I have repeatedly experienced the same problem. I receive a notification saying that a product has expired and needs to be renewed. I make the payment online, but the same “expired” notification continues to appear in my account for days. Assuming that my payment did not go through, I make another payment, which results in multiple subscriptions being created for the same AVG product.
Over the past two years, this issue has occurred with multiple AVG products, resulting in several duplicate subscriptions and unnecessary payments. Although the total amount has not caused me significant financial hardship, repeatedly experiencing the same problem and being unable to find anyone who can actually help resolve it has become extremely frustrating. AVG’s website states that I can click the “Order Story” section to access my order and payment information and then enter those details into the refund form to request a refund. However, there is no link called “Order Story” on the page they direct me to, so I cannot access the information they require.
I have also been unable to find any effective way to contact AVG customer service or support directly. I could not reach anyone by phone or through an easily accessible support system, which means I have no practical way to explain my situation and request a resolution.
My request is straightforward and reasonable: I want the excess payments I made for duplicate subscriptions of the same products to be refunded to my credit card. If a refund is not considered possible, then I at least expect the duplicate amounts I paid to be credited toward future periods after my current subscription expires. I also expect a clear explanation of how this situation occurred and an apology for the confusion and inconvenience I have experienced.
